I have gone through this exact situation. Grab a new monitor, all excited, get home and can't use the thing. I now have two or three DVI adapters tucked away, even tho a new <a href="http://cksglobal.tumblr.com/post/149112405981/how-to-reduce-electrical-noise-in-a-projected" rel="nofollow">monitor</a> purchase is rare, the frustration is ridiculous. Always keep a few extra adapters!
